Black Panther from Walt Disney Co has received more than $1 billion at box-office globally. It’s the 16th movie to achieve that milestone for the company. The superhero film of Marvel creating records in sales reached to the 10-figure number after making a strong debut in China.

It is the highest in the US of the 10-highest grossing releases locally as it received $521 million in the US alone. Moreover, globally, the sales may cross $500 million this weekend, according to the Disney statement.
Black Panther, the first black superhero blockbuster now became a diversity to promote in the film industry. The movie, however, deals with the colonization and race. Also, issues such as sexual harassment and inclusion in the industry of entertainment came into the spotlight on March 4 at the Hollywood’s Academy Awards.
China is the largest market for movies after the US and has become a lucrative outpost for Marvel and Disney. Avengers: The Age of Ultron clocked $240 million while Captain America: Civil War grossed $181 million.
