Hunger Strike of Anna Hazare Continues on Lokpal

It’s been 7 years so far for Anna Hazare first anti-corruption movement that made a stir on the political scenario of the country. Once again the social activist Anna Hazare began his hunger strike at Ramlila Maida of New Delhi demanding Lokpal bill at the center.

Hunger Strike for Lokpal

Ombudsman or Lokpal is an authority of anti-corruption that investigates on the cases of corruption against the government. In 2011, Hazare started his campaign in demanding UPA appointing a Lokpal to go over investigation against the government corruption cases.

Lok Pal Bill

Earlier, he rejected the Prime Minister’s office request and CM Devendra Fadnavis in withdrawing his hunger strike. This time his demand continues on Lokpal, and Swaminathan Commission report would address the distress of agrarian along with Lokayukta in the states. On asking why on March 23rd he said –

“The day, March 23 has been chosen on purpose as Bhagat Singh Sukhdev and Rajguru were hanged to death on this day by the British.”

At Rajghat, he paid tribute before reaching Ramleela maida and made his move to Shaheedi Park. Thousands of them supported him.
