This incident has melted the heart of even a stone-hearted person. A cop from Uttar Pradesh has chosen his duty in saving a dying man over a family emergency. Bhupendra Tomar, head constable doing his patrolling duty in early hours on February 23 with his team in the quick response vehicle 100.

Actions and Reactions of Bhupendra Tomar

At this time, he got a call from a man who has beaten multiple times on the road. He was lying over there. The team rushed to save the man and he received a call. This call appeared like a challenge before him.

Suddenly, his daughter Jyoti collapsed and died while his team requested him to go home assuring of taking care of stabbed man. Indeed he refused and chose the duty he needs to finish.

Tomar told TOI: ” I got a call saying Jyoti had died but we were already on our way to the attacked site at Sirsisri village on the road. I know I have to save the injured man. Leave the dead behind and save those are alive is the credo I follow. I don’t think I have done anything exceptional.”

Jyoti works at a health center in Meerut and survived by the husband. In fact, several senior officers in the state appreciated the efforts of Bhupendra Tomar and Saharanpur Deputy Inspector of police Sharad Sachan honored him.

He was felicitated on Friday. DGP, O G Singh said, “I am overwhelmed by the way in which the police department has stood by us through thick and thin.”

Tomar said, “All my seniors have been extremely helpful to us.”
